About

Hello and welcome to On the Quest of Good Eatz, my very personal journal of what I consider the great things in life - Food, Travel and Cooking.

Just a little bit about myself, I am originally from Bangkok, have once called New York and Shanghai a home. Recently has been spending most of my time in Singapore and ,once again, Bangkok. What I do professionally in life has very little to do with food . Though to me food has been a life long journey of experimenting , exploring both in my own kitchen and out there in the world.

If my memory serves me right, I recalled, as much as I liked my play time outside home with other neighborhood kids, I did also liked hanging around in the kitchen with my nanny while she was preparing dinner for us. I was happy just to help out ( or, in another word - to play )  washing, picking, peeling, smashing, chopping away. If I was lucky I got to help stirring and tasting a bit. During summer break from school, I sometimes tried making a simple dish, like spaghetti and literally ushered my father and sisters to gather around to " enjoy " my cooking. It was probably tasted terrible but of course my father said it was good anyway.
Not until I moved to New York that I really got a chance to mess around with food in my own kitchen. At first, it was out of necessity, soon enough that it became by choice. And at some point, I fell in love with cooking. To me, this is an undying love affair and there is no turning back. I do take great pleasure on bringing joy and delight to those I cook for. I often experiment with food, therefore most of the time there are no exact measurements of ingredients that go into the pot. This applies to measurements of ingredients shown in this journal, they are guidelines based on my liking. Feel free to adjust them up and down to your personal taste. However, I would suggest adhering to the measurements shown for Pastry & Baking recipes as precision is required in baking to achieve a good yummy product.

As much as I like to cook, I equally enjoy going explore on foods outside my kitchen as well, friends' home cooked, cooking classes, in the restaurants, street stalls, dodgy back alley, you name a few. In this On a Quest of Good Eatz journal, I am sharing my culinary finds that I have had a great fortune of stumbling upon them. And because I am not seeing myself as a food critic so all of what written in here, of you might consider them restaurant reviews are purely my personal opinions and thoughts which are associated with my memories, stories, world history and cultures that I have been experienced so far.

So as I cruise along the path where my life is taking me in the world and vise versa, I hope to share my personal thoughts and experiences with you - conversations, places, cuisines and cultures - some of which are absolutely deliciously memorable. Also hoping to provide a platform and encourage a tasty exchange of ideas among us, the food lovers and explorers community.

Hop on and enjoy the ride. Bon Voyage!
